"A Window of Time"
While a calm summer breeze slips through an open window.
The sleepy room comes alive, no sound just movement.
Quietly sitting reflecting back with fond memories,
she stares at the worn stained tablecloth that moves with confidence,
as it gently hugs the round table like a star performing on center stage.
Instantly her eyes are drawn down to its skirt of faded flowers,
revealing the tired choreographed Ivy
dancing
in mid air.
The
imperfections
in the embroidered
Ivy
are hidden
with playful movement.
She looks only at its beauty and thinks of the young skilled hands
that caringly gave life to this once new cloth.
But
now, both hands and cloth,
with less time than skill and more age than time,
are still there to lovingly
admire
and respect,
before the window closes.
